Make solar part of your business plan.

Begin with your operating pattern

A warehouse, office and manufacturing facility can have very different electricity demand. Review your load profile, operating hours and future changes before discussing system capacity. Solar design should reflect how the site uses electricity.

Check the building, not only the bill

Available roof area, shade, roof condition and electrical infrastructure all affect the design. Include ownership or tenancy arrangements and planned building work in the initial discussion. These details shape project feasibility and installation coordination.

Ask for a transparent proposal

A useful proposal explains the proposed equipment, installation scope, generation assumptions and costs. Expected bill savings depend on system output, electricity consumption, tariffs and applicable programme terms. Ask how estimates were calculated rather than relying on a single headline percentage.

Plan beyond commissioning

Include inspection access, maintenance arrangements and system documentation in the project brief. Decide who will review performance and respond when a fault appears. Clear responsibilities make the installation easier to manage after handover.
